Lost Reef has some amazing decor going - live fish and corals in tanks all around the room!

The vibe at this venue is lounging, plush seats, visuals, and delicious cocktails. (Who wants to propose a nearby venue for a dance-party after-party??) We will be mostly in their side/back area which has a good few chairs and tables. Be sure to keep enough space for the wait staff to come and go from the kitchen!

The tanks are lit with black lights! Wear your favorite black light reactive clothing and accessories

This one's going to be fun! WHIM Chicago at Stage 773 is hosting our gathering of area burners for January. It's a great opportunity to hang out with fellow burners, develop connections, share ideas and build community. No cover, no agenda.

If you've not been to WHIM yet, you're in for a treat. This immersive bar and installation space is created by over 100 Chicago artists! We'll be hanging out in WHIM's LOBBY OF SECOND CHANCES, an explosion of creations made from found objects. Starting at 8 pm, grab the mic for karaoke in the ENCHANTED FOREST. Also around 8 pm, there will be free pizza!

For a fee, you can also tour EXPERIENCE WHIM, an immersive and interactive series of 9 rooms created by local artists. The tour comes with a free signature cocktail. You can purchase a timed entry ahead of time or purchase a ticket when you're there, as capacity allows.

It's not a holiday unless you are doing at least three of those things, and we are going to do all four!

Avondale bowl is hosting us this time around! This is classy bowling, like they used to do in days of yore. We've got two lanes and will have a sign up sheet for the bowlers among us. And they've got room for us to potluck our favorite foods! Lane fees are being donated by a generous burner :) And we want to see you making a donation to B.U.R.N!! Support our revelry, your revelry, and art and education in Chicago and the Midwest! Best score of the night gets a special prize!

Bold Urban Renaissance Network (B.U.R.N.) invites you to our inaugural Beach Decomp. As we look back at another year of Lakes of Fire and look forward to another year in the desert at Burning Man, we wanted to provide space and time for us to be present together as a community, and we hope you get to be a part of it!

WHEN: Sunday August 20th, 11am - 8pm.

WHERE: Rainbow Beach Park, located in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago. The easiest access to Rainbow Beach’s main parking lot is by S Farragut Drive, off South DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Google maps will try to send you to 77th street, however vehicle access is cut off and parking is always difficult on the side streets close to the beach.

WHAT: A fun day in the sun at one of the best beaches Chicago has to offer. Music will be provided in collaboration with a few cool soundcamp DJs (y’know, Dewey Decibles, San Escobar, Superfriends) that were at Lakes this year. Grills, along with some food and drinks will be provided, but we encourage everyone to bring items to contribute.

SUGGESTED DONATION: $10.

Proceeds will be donated to Bold Urban Renaissance in order to move forward with its mission in fostering community & arts through grass-roots projects, and civic engagement.

B.U.R.N. Seeks to create, display, and support interactive civic participation that inspires action and connects people by moving them from passive spectators to creative participants. We believe this inspires positive creative change in the participants and in the wider community. Donating to B.U.R.N. supports continued arts grant funding and community efforts!

We are setting up near the Soccer Cage for a burner meet and greet!

Every month Chicago burners get together for a meet'n'greet at a local watering hole. There's no agenda, no cover, and no cover. Just a few libations and eats with a bunch of fellow burners from around Chicagoland!

Phillis' will have live music this evening! A larger-scale jazz band at 7PM and another band at 9! Depending on whether, the band will play outdoors on the patio, or indoors in the bar. We can use the space they are not playing in for conversations!

After a bit of a hiatus, your monthly Meet n Greet happy hour returns to warm up your Winter time weeknights!
